Any E-Business Suite or Cloud Applications implementation, even where only a few modules are being used, requires hundreds, sometimes thousands, of configuration settings to be set to ensure that it meets the needs of the business, IT and audit. These setups must be effectively managed across multiple environments; all setups being accurately repeated in each environment where they are applied. This presents a major challenge as most setup must be done manually in each environment; with a high risk of manual error and little ability for comparison except to do so manually.
Automated solutions provided by Oracle, such as iSetup, FSM and Generic Loader (FNDLOAD), are inflexible and cover only a small fraction of the application setup areas. Public APIs to assist with migration are available for fewer than 5% of setup steps in the E-Business Suite.
As well as the risk of error associated with manual configuration the time it can take to complete and check can put significant pressure on projects and release cycles and greatly increase the cost of managing the system.

You can load or migrate individual records or bulk load all settings for specific entities etc but can refine all loads as needed so you only ever load / migrate the specific details you want and when.
Pre-defined metadata is available for supported steps enabling you to begin using migration with the minimum of fuss; the approach also allowing for maximum flexibility to deal with environment specific scenarios without expensive development requirements.
There is support within the E-Business Suite migration mechanism to submit and monitor any concurrent processes required as part of planned activities.
Once data has been migrated, comparison reports between either the plan data or source environment with the target environment can be run to confirm all data has migrated successfully or to provide evidence that only the approved updates were made.
